Public drinking-water and sewerage services

Val-d'Oise has 52 drinking-water services and 97 sewerage services whose authority is based in the département (SISPEA observatory, 2024 financial year). Price incl. VAT per m³ for a reference consumption of 120 m³: drinking water from €2.16 to €4.30 (median €3.04, 28 services publishing their price); sewerage median €1.90 (50 services).

Some towns are supplied by the Île-de-France water syndicate (SEDIF), based in Paris: it is listed first in the table.

Values reported by the authorities; some are published before being checked by State services. The observatory file does not list the towns of each service.

Floods, drought and other natural hazards

Natural disaster orders published in the Official Journal since 1982 and natural hazard prevention plans are recorded by the State in the GASPAR database, published by Géorisques. An order recognises a past event; a prevention plan sets building rules in exposed areas.

There are 888 “flooding and mudflow” recognitions and 257 “drought” recognitions (one per town and per order); 69 towns have had at least one “drought” order, a sign of clay soil prone to shrink-swell. Latest order published: Sept. 10, 2026.

Flood risk prevention plans

38 towns are covered by at least one flood risk prevention plan:

  • PPRI Aubette de Magny et ruissellement
  • PPRI Epte
  • PPRI Presles
  • PPRI Sausseron
  • PPRI Seine Amont
  • PPRI Seine Aval
  • PPRI Seine Centre
  • PPRI Vallée de l'Oise

Radon potential (French radiation protection institute, via Géorisques): 183 towns in category 1 (the lowest), 0 in category 2, 0 in category 3.

For a specific address, the statutory risk statement (ERRIAL) can be produced free of charge on Géorisques. Géorisques: risk statement for an address

Regulated industrial sites and soils

1,363 installations classified for environmental protection are monitored in the département by the inspectorate; 347 are operating under a permit (151 under authorisation, 196 under registration).

Seveso sites

8 upper-tier and 15 lower-tier Seveso sites. Around an upper-tier site, a technological risk prevention plan may restrict development.

128 soil information sectors, where the State knows of contamination, require a soil study before a building permit; 4,009 former industrial and service sites are listed (a historical inventory, which does not mean the soil is contaminated).

Land sobriety: land take (net zero land take)

The Climate and Resilience Act of 22 August 2021 sets a target of net zero land take by 2050; land taken from 2011 to 2021 is the baseline. Cerema measurement from land files: 1,117.1 ha taken in the département from 2011 to 2021, 286.1 ha from 2021 to 2025, of which 141.6 ha for economic activity.

The table by town gives both periods. Land that is already developed (brownfields, existing business parks) does not count as new land take.

Low-carbon mobility: EV charging

1,776 publicly accessible charging points in 525 stations across 119 towns, according to the consolidated national database (updated Oct. 3, 2026); 657 points deliver 50 kW or more.

Stations, transport lines and major projects are in the “Transport” section of the Access, digital, energy page.
